Community Update: Agenda and Minutes for the April 11, 2019 Board Meeting

All community members are welcome to attend School Board meetings. See the district's School Board meeting calendar here.

School board members are locally elected public officials entrusted with governing a community’s public schools. The role of the school board is to ensure that school districts are responsive to the values, beliefs and priorities of their communities. Boards fulfill this role by performing five major responsibilities:

    • Setting direction

    • Establishing an effective and efficient structure

    • Providing support

    • Ensuring accountability

    • Providing community leadership as advocates for children, the school district and public schools

Our district encourages all parents and guardians to be more involved at their school sites and at the district by being a part of our Family University parent engagement program. By actively participating in your student's education, you stay informed, get exposed to resources, build a supportive community and gain a better understanding of your student's academic experience. Learn more about Family University here.
