WELCOME TO WILLIAM GREEN SCHOOL!

William Green School is a California Golden Bell Award winning, college preparatory elementary school that focuses on academic excellence, critical thinking, humanitarian citizenry, and student-family-school partnerships. To this end we provide research-based instruction, collaborative instructional teams, focused interventions, and multiple opportunities for students and parents to be fully engaged in the school program. Here, at the Home of the Eagles, we honor students, parents, faculty, staff, and community as essential partners. Our campus is welcoming, friendly, safe, and attractive.

A visit to any of our William Green classrooms will reveal enthusiastic teachers leading students in strategies for critical thinking and independent learning. We motivate students to enjoy school, be curious about the world, and celebrate knowledge. Reading comprehension and writing fluency are the centerpoint of literacy and you will see teachers and students using the computer lab, internet, library, journals, field trips, and real artifacts to practice and master their learning in every subject area.
 
William Green parents and community volunteers are invaluable to our program and permeate our campus life, helping in the Parent Center, participating in workshops, providing supervision, assisting teachers in the classroom, and forming reading partners. In addition to our Parent Center, parents and community members are active in School Readiness, PTA, School Site Council, Family Nights, as Room Parents, and in the Reading Partners Program.
 
William Green students, in addition to meeting high classroom expectations, have access to the arts, school service activities, academic support, student government, field trips, reading and math honor societies, and special interest clubs. Before or after school, you may find students at our RAP after school programs, tutoring, the William Green Computer Lab, Flight Club, Chess Club, Jogging Club, Homework Club, or in the music, sports, or arts programs. We celebrate achievement through monthly Academic Awards, Student of the Month assemblies, Principal's Reading Club, Principal's Math Club, and Campaign Success celebrations for meeting academic, homework, conduct, and attendance goals.
